52Best Annual Trips: Each year the Readers of 52Best take a trip in November. There are 25 to 30 of us with two thirds married and a third married. Normally about half have traveled with us before and half coming for the first time. The median age is around 52 with some as young as 10 and others as experienced as 82. We began taking trips in 2000 and below are our past, present and future trips. |

| Trip Philosophy No. 1 - Cities Big and Small: We will be half the time in big cities and half the time visiting and traveling the back roads seeing the interior of the country, the smaller cities, and meeting with the local people. | ||||||||||
| Trip Philosophy No. 2 - Tours vs. Free Time: We will average eight to ten paid tours during a trip that will provide about half our time being guided showing sites and places we might not find on our own; and half the time free time on our own to explore and find places and people tours do not find. | ||||||||||
| Trip Philosophy No. 3 - Cruising: Increasingly we are including a cruise for a portion of the trip. These are "inland" tours where we can see the country go by on a new, quality ship with a small number of passengers and a proven friendly crew with good food and spacious suites. | ||||||||||

Trip Philosophy No. 4 - Buildings vs. People: We will see the temples, cathedrals, museums and all the "buildings" that a country is primarily noted for; but we will also visit an elementary school and/or orphanage to talk with the kids of the country. Some of our Readers have friends in the countries we visit and we may set up times to share drinks with these friends as well as native 52Best Readers. |
